v
The members of the Steering
Committee will consider some of the suggestions for adding new
key sites for the possibility of an appropriate reorientation
without losing the framework of the objectives of the consortium.
If there is a need for extension in the current key sites,
CURE is open to the cooperation of other NARS institutions to
collaborate and participate in CURE meetings and activities.
v
The
Steering Committee approved the inclusion of Arakan Valley in
Southern Mindanao, Philippines as a key site in Working Group
6.
Organization and operation
v
There
is a need to consolidate working groups and create sub-working
groups. However, the time is not right to make the
thematic and organizational change.
Therefore, status quo will be maintained at present in
order to maintain focus, impact, and specialization.
v
CURE
will serve as a lamppost - the NARES are needed in generating
technologies in a holistic manner, and the working groups should
be in constant touch with the national programs.
Working Group Leaders and Co-Leaders
v
Dr. Abdelbagi Ismail will be the Working
Group 2 Leader effective immediately.
v
The new director of the Central Rice
Research Institute (CRRI) will be asked to assume the leadership
of Working Group 3 effective immediately.
v
The
IRRI Co-coordinators for WGs 3 and 5 would be Dr. Glenn Gregorio
and Dr. Edwin Javier, respectively.
